Meet Maggie Alguire
Maggie Alguire, RP-Q
Hi, I’m Maggie. I’m currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University.
My path to psychotherapy has been shaped by a longstanding interest in creativity, mindfulness, movement, and the mind-body connection. I am also a 700-hour yoga teacher with specialized training in somatic yoga and embodied life coaching, and I previously studied Musical Theatre Performance at St. Lawrence College and Queen’s University.
I believe therapy can be both a place to slow down and a place to build the confidence to move forward.
How I Work
My goal is to create a warm, grounded, and non-judgmental space where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you arrive. I welcome big emotions, honest conversations, curiosity, and playfulness.
My approach draws on mindfulness, somatic awareness, creativity, and traditional talk therapy. Rather than rushing toward a quick fix, I believe meaningful change comes from developing a deeper understanding of ourselves and learning to trust what we discover along the way.
Together, we can explore what you’re experiencing with curiosity and compassion while developing practical tools that support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and meaningful change outside of the therapy room.
Above all, I hope you leave our work together feeling supported, empowered, and increasingly confident in your ability to navigate your own life.

How I Support Clients
For Young Adults
Young adulthood can bring a lot of change, uncertainty, and pressure to figure out who you are and where you’re going. I support young adults who are navigating relationships, identity, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and the growing responsibility that comes with adulthood.
Our work can create space to slow things down, better understand what is happening beneath the surface, and strengthen your ability to respond to life from a place of greater awareness and self-trust.
For Couples
I work with couples who want to better understand themselves and each other, strengthen communication, and explore the patterns that may be getting in the way of connection.
Rather than focusing only on the problem in front of us, we can become curious about the emotions, needs, and experiences underneath recurring conflict. Together, we work toward creating greater understanding, emotional awareness, and connection within the relationship.
Mind-Body & Somatic Therapy
My background in yoga, somatic practice, mindfulness, and embodied life coaching deeply informs how I understand healing. Sometimes our bodies communicate experiences that are difficult to put into words.
By bringing gentle attention to physical sensations, emotions, breath, movement, and patterns of nervous system activation, I help clients develop a stronger connection with themselves. These approaches can support grounding, emotional regulation, self-awareness, and the ability to move through life with greater confidence and choice.
