PLAY THERAPY AT CLARITY
A Gift for Both Parents and Children.
Play therapy offers healing, growth, and deeper connection—not just for children, but for families as a whole. Whether delivered in person or virtually, through non-directive or directive approaches, it creates a space where children can feel safe, seen, and supported in ways that are developmentally attuned and deeply meaningful.
For Children
Play therapy provides a unique opportunity for children to build a safe and trusting relationship with a caring adult who is fully dedicated to their process. From the very first visit, children come to understand that this is their space—where they can lead, explore, express, and heal in their own way.
Our trained and closely supervised play therapists use both non-directive and directive approaches depending on the child’s needs. In non-directive sessions, children are free to follow their internal cues, naturally moving toward what needs healing without needing to explain or define it. In directive sessions, therapists offer gentle structure to support specific therapeutic goals such as emotional regulation, impulse control, or social skills development. Both approaches are rooted in respect for the child’s nervous system, developmental stage, and individual way of making meaning.
Play therapy offers your child a space they genuinely look forward to—a time that feels uniquely theirs, whether it’s in-person or online. It’s a space where healing unfolds naturally, through connection, creativity, and play—without ever feeling like work.
Children can explore their inner worlds and navigate complex emotions through:
🎭 Puppets: For storytelling and expressing emotions.
🎵 Music: To inspire calm, movement, or emotional release.
👗 Dress-Up & Role Play: Explore identities and new scenarios.
🎲 Games: Build connection, cooperation, and insight.
🎨 Art: A creative way to process emotions and thoughts.
🏖️ Sand Trays: Symbolic exploration and grounding.
📚 Books: Introduce resilience and problem-solving themes.
🌀 Fidgets: Support sensory needs and self-regulation.
🧱 Blocks: Encourage problem-solving and boundary exploration.
🍼 Nurturing Play: Soothe and care through doll play.
⚡ Conflict Tools: Safely navigate conflict and aggression.
For Parents
Play therapy offers peace of mind and meaningful support for parents and caregivers. Our therapists use evidence-based assessments and clinical observation to track your child’s progress, so you’re never left wondering if therapy is “working.” Regular parent sessions provide an opportunity to reflect, gain insight into your child’s behaviour, and explore ways to support regulation and connection at home.
