ANDREA DAVISON, MSW {Intern}

STARTING IN NOVEMBER 2025

MEET ANDREA…

Supporting children, teens, adults, and families through life’s toughest moments is at the heart of my work. As a Master of Social Work (MSW) intern, I am completing my clinical placement under supervision while pursuing advanced training in play therapy. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a deep respect for each client’s story.

How I Work
I believe therapy is most effective when it feels safe, collaborative, and adaptable to each person’s unique needs. My work is informed by the science of the nervous system—how stress, trauma, and connection affect our bodies and minds. I use a blend of guided reflection, mindfulness, curiosity-based conversations, and creative modalities to help clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. I draw on motivational interviewing to support clients in clarifying goals and am inspired by Rogerian therapy, which emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard.

Areas of Focus
• Anxiety, stress, and emotional regulation
• Trauma, grief, and life transitions
• Child development and parenting support
• Play therapy (under supervision and training)
• Medical stress and caregiver support
• Family and relationship challenges
• Nature-based and equine-assisted therapy (in training)

For Children & Teens
I support children and teens experiencing anxiety, stress, emotional regulation challenges, or the impact of trauma. My developing specialization in play therapy offers young clients a way to explore and process their experiences beyond words, helping them feel more grounded, safe, and connected. I also integrate mindfulness and body-based strategies to support regulation and build resilience.

For Adults & Families
With adults, my work focuses on helping clients move from overwhelm, grief, or stress into a space of greater clarity and connection. I also support families navigating conflict, caregiving challenges, or relational transitions. Together, we work to untangle patterns, build new ways of relating, and find grounding practices that bring more balance into everyday life.

Integrating Nature & Animals
My passion for this work is deeply shaped by my love of animals and the natural world. I am currently working toward certification in equine-facilitated wellness and will soon be offering equine-assisted therapy as part of my practice. This work brings an experiential, nature-based element to healing, offering clients unique pathways into connection, regulation, and growth.
