FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Does Therapy Really Work?
Absolutely. Therapy works because it offers a safe, compassionate space to explore not just the symptoms, but the roots of what’s going on underneath. It’s where we learn to make sense of our inner world, reclaim connection with ourselves and others, and begin to heal what hurts.
At CLARITY, we have clinicians who specialize in every stage of life—from toddlers navigating big feelings, to teens sorting out identity and belonging, to parents working through overwhelm, couples rebuilding connection, and individuals finding meaning in later life.
We use a range of creative and evidence-based therapies to meet people where they are—including play therapy, sand tray, talk therapy, and the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). These approaches don’t just change behaviors—they support emotional safety, deeper insight, and long-lasting transformation. The roots of change start here.
How Effective is Virtual Therapy?
Very. Virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions—sometimes even more so, especially when trust, consistency, and comfort are present.
At CLARITY, we’ve adapted alongside the modern world to meet you where you are—whether that’s a cozy room at home, a lunch break at work, or a parked car in the school lot. Therapy is about connection, not location.
We offer virtual support across Ontario, with therapists trained to hold space for children, teens, couples, and individuals in ways that feel warm, relational, and grounded. Whether it's a play therapy session on the floor with your child or a deep conversation about your relationship, we show up fully—online or in-person—because we know healing happens when you feel safe and seen.
What Age Do You Start Working with Children?
We start working with children as young as 18 months. These early years are foundational—and even very young children can benefit from therapeutic support when it’s play-based, nurturing, and attuned to their needs.
We use developmentally appropriate approaches like non-directive play therapy, which allows children to express themselves in their natural language of play—building safety, regulation, and trust along the way.
How Do I Talk to My Child or Teen About Starting Therapy?
A great first step is to explore our website together—let them see photos of our team and the creative spaces where they’ll be spending time. Making the unknown feel more familiar can ease anxiety and build a sense of safety before the first session.
You can let your child or teen know that therapy is a space just for them, where they get to be themselves, express their thoughts and feelings, and be supported by someone who truly wants to understand and help. We're happy to offer guidance if you're unsure how to start the conversation.
What If I’ve Tried Therapy Before and It Didn’t Help?
That’s a valid concern—and one we hear often. The truth is, therapy is not one-size-fits-all. The most important part of therapy isn’t the method—it’s the relationship. Feeling safe, heard, and understood by your therapist is the foundation for any real change to occur.
That’s why at CLARITY, we offer a free consultation call and include video introductions in our bios—to help you find a good fit from the very beginning. And if something isn’t working, we’re here to help you navigate your options with care and honesty. You're not starting from scratch—you're starting from experience, and that matters.
